Please review our policies before registering for Makom Afterschool
After September 1, 2024, tuition is completely non-refundable. You will receive a charitable donation receipt for all amounts paid. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
In the case that a child is withdrawn from the program before September 1, 2024, the following percentages of tuition are non-refundable:
- Before June 1, 2024: 20%
- Between June 1 and June 30, 2024: 40%
- Between July 1 and July 31, 2024: 60%
- Between August 1 and August 31, 2024: 80%
- On or after September 1, 2024: 100% (no refund)
In a case where a student is asked to leave Makom Afterschool for disciplinary reasons, all tuition fees will be forfeit, including the registration deposit. No refund will be issued. (We will first work with the child, their teacher, and their family to address any issues; students will be asked to leave only as a last resort.)
No exceptions will be made to this policy.
Payments are made via TUIO, our secure online payment processing platform. You will set up an account with TUIO and can elect to pay by bank account or by credit card. Please note that there are no additional fees when you pay via bank account, whereas TUIO does charge a credit card processing fee.
Tuition may be paid upfront or in five equal instalments (due upon registration, and on June 1, July 1, August 1, and September 1).
Tuition for children’s religious education is considered a tax-deductible charitable donation by the Canada Revenue Agency. Makom will issue tax receipts for the full amount of tuition paid.
Transportation fees (if applicable) are due August 1. These fees are not considered charitable donations and will not be included on your tax receipt.
We prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
In keeping with Public Health advice, we strongly encourage vaccination for all students and staff.
In alignment with TDSB policy, masks are currently optional at Makom Afterschool. We will continue to monitor the situation and may introduce a mask requirement during the school year.
Students must not attend Makom Afterschool for ten days after the onset of a confirmed or suspected Covid case. (The date of onset is the day symptoms began, or if asymptomatic, the date on which they first tested positive.)
Students must not attend Makom Afterschool if they have a household member with Covid, or if the student has any symptoms of Covid.
