Donate to the Makom Afterschool & ATID Financial Aid Fund

We are committed to making Makom Afterschool (JK-Grade 5) and Makom ATID (Grades 6-8) accessible to all families, regardless of their financial situation. Help make this possible by contributing to our Financial Aid Fund!

About the Financial Aid Fund

At Makom, we firmly believe that Jewish education is vital for children’s development as ethical, engaged, and empowered Jews. We’re proud that Makom Afterschool and Makom ATID are delivering high-quality, inclusive, and pluralistic Jewish and Hebrew education to 84 kids this year, from junior kindergarten through grade 8.

But for some families, the cost of after-school Jewish education just isn’t financially feasible.

We never turn away a student due to lack of funds. This school year, we’re providing almost $38,000 in financial aid, allowing 18 students – who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to attend our programs – to learn Hebrew, connect with their Jewish heritage, and be part of our warm community.

Some of this funding comes from a generous grant from the Julia and Henry Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Education of UJA Federation; the rest comes from donors like you.

Please donate generously to the Makom Afterschool & ATID Financial Aid Fund and give the gifts of Jewish and Hebrew education to a child in financial need.

Thank you in advance for your meaningful support to make Jewish education accessible to all.

I wanted our kids to have a different kind of Jewish education, one that was meaningful and soulful, but at the same time inclusive and reflective of the diversity that is my family life and my broader community.

Parent of two 9-year-old students

It’s fun and it’s challenging. I like Makom as an after school program because it’s not just playing and games. It’s learning Hebrew.

Yona

Student, age 7

It’s been an amazing experience to see my sons grow in the program.

Miriam

Parent of 6-year-old and 10-year-old students

It’s a positive, fun experience for the kids. They enjoy being here.
